Lions Club
The Lions Club of Torrington commenced on April 16, 1962 under the sponsorship of the Lions Club of Carbon. The Lions Club's mandate is a service club to support the local community and international needs. Their motto is We Serve.
They held their first Sports Day on June 29, 1967. The Lions Club sponsored the Torrington Community Band from 1963-1967. A Mother's Day breakfast was held every year. Torre Villa was managed by the Lions Club. The Lions Club gave scholastic awards to the Torrington school. Other events were Lions Bull & Bash, Turkey Dinner, and Vegas Night.
They also give out candy bags at Christmas concerts. Proceeds from the Lions Club have been donated to STARS, Torrington and District Agricultural Society, Lions Clubs International Foundation, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Leader Dog Program and many more.
The Lions Club meets in the Ron Gorr Arena
